Last Monday, I officially resigned from work. Last Tuesday, the court legally dissolved my marriage. What a way to start the week, huh?*

Despite even the best of our plans, sometimes life as we know it can change in completely unforeseen ways. Speaking for myself, what grounds me today amid the chaos of uncertainty is remembering that life changes like these are normal. The death of a relationship, whether professional or personal, is normal.
Grief – also normal. It’s normal and it’s healthy to mourn what once was; to mourn the person you used to be; to mourn the people who were once seemingly permanent fixtures in your daily life, and are now wholly absent – whether by your choice or theirs.
In the same heart where we carry grief, we can carry gratitude at the same time. While it’s true that I’m no longer at a job or in a marriage, I still appreciate the abundance of experiences I’ve gained as a result of them. And my present lack of either does not depreciate my value as a human being.

Just Deux You
This past spring’s cohort of the Demystifying Duo Improv class appreciated their experience so much that they asked for more. In response, Stephen Gillikin and I (aka improv duo Power Sauce) will be offering a Part Deux iteration this summer at The Lyric Hyperion! Stephen and I are super pumped to offer this intermediate-level workshop series as a deeper study of duo improv.
One of the aspects we enjoy about teaching is the opportunity to support learners with their growth both on- and off-stage. Of course, you don’t have to take my word for it. You can also consider what one learner from the spring cohort had to say about their time in class:
“Wendy and Stephen are a phenomenal duo as improvisers and teachers. This was the best improv class I've taken. Both instructors create a safe and stimulating environment to play, learn, and make mistakes. I felt like I grew as a performer, a teammate, and a person over the course of the class.”

Stephen and I hope you’ll join us for our next round of classes! If you wanna stir up your improv sauce, sign up ASAP and use promo code SAUCE50 for a 50% off discount.
Also! Stephen and I are designating two registration slots for Diversity Scholarship recipients. Diversity Scholarship applications are due no later than July 6th at 11:59pm PT.
